An overcard is a card that is higher than the ones you have in your hand or other community cards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The term overcards can be used in two different ways. Firstly, an overcard can be a card on the community board that’s of a higher than your hole cards<\/a>. So if you have KK and the flop comes AT5, Ace is an overcard to your pocket kings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It can also have the opposite connotation and refer to your hole card that’s of higher value than any cards on the community board. For example, if the community board reads 4s 9h Jh after the flop and you have a Qs Ks, you have two overcards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
