For tournaments, the rake is often referred to as a tournament fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rake in <a href=\"http:\/\/pokercoaching.com\/blog\/cash-game-strategy-tips\/\" title=\"Best Cash Game Strategy Tips to Transform Your Game\">cash games<\/a> is calculated as a percentage of the <a href=\"http:\/\/pokercoaching.com\/blog\/poker-terms\/pot\/\" title=\"Pot Definition \u2013 Learn What Is a Pot in Poker\">pot<\/a>. So, if you\u2019re playing in a game with a 5% take, the house will take 5% out of every pot and keep it for the services provided.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, if you win a $200 pot in this scenario, $10 will be taken out, and the remaining $190 will be yours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The good news is that in most <a href=\"http:\/\/pokercoaching.com\/blog\/how-to-play-poker\/texas-holdem-rules\/\" title=\"How To Play Texas Hold\u2019em \u2013 Poker Rules &amp; Basics\">Texas Hold&#8217;em<\/a> games, the rake is capped at a certain monetary amount.
