Most players at this level bet when they have something and check when they do not, which means a check caps their range. When they check on a board or runout that favors your range, apply maximum pressure and let their capped range do the folding for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tip #5. Bet Big When They Have a Capped Range<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Knowing you should bluff more only pays off if you size your bluffs to actually get folds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is an example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You raise queen-nine suited and the big blind calls with the wide, junky range typical of these games. Most players bet $30 or $60 here, get called by third pair, and conclude bluffing is impossible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That said, the only correct size in this situation is all-in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/pokercoaching.com\/poker-math\">poker math<\/a> says the jam has to work just over half the time, and against a capped range of middle pairs facing their whole stack, it succeeds far more often than that. If you dropped me into a $1\/$2 game in this exact spot right now, I would jam without hesitation, because I know how rarely these players find a call for their stack with one pair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The single most valuable change you can make is to stop asking what the theoretically correct play is and start asking what your specific opponent does wrong.
