Top Pair Definition – Learn What A Top Pair Is In Poker

A top pair is a poker hand made by combining one of your hole cards with the highest-ranked card on the community board.

For example, if the flop is Q 10 5 and you are holding AQ as your starting hand, you have a top pair. While one pair hand is only stronger than a high card combination, you will win many pots while holding the top pair and top kicker, as in the example above.
