The MTT abbreviation stands for multi-table tournaments. This tournament format usually has an unlimited number of participants. All events have predefined starting times and equal buy-in for all players.
This makes it different from other popular formats, such as sit-and-go tournaments and HUSNG.
For example, let’s say that 180 players show up to an event. The MTT will have 20 tables in action, with 9 players at each table. These 20 tables will play down to just a final table, and eventually only to one player, who will be crowned the tournament winner. Learn more about MTT poker strategy.
