Is Online Poker Legal in Wyoming in 2026?

No, Wyoming doesn’t license any online poker sites. What Changed for Sweepstakes Poker in Wyoming

Wyoming hasn’t banned sweepstakes poker, but it’s heading that way.

  • October 2026. The Select Committee on Gaming voted on October 5 and 6 to sponsor bill draft 27LSO-0098, which would prohibit online casinos and sweepstakes games. The legislature can’t take it up before the 2027 session opens in January. Source, SCCG, October 13, 2026
  • July 2026. The same committee first declined to advance the draft after testimony from sweepstakes operator VGW and questions about whether current law already covers these sites. Source, Wyoming Public Media, July 31, 2026
  • May 2025. The Wyoming Gaming Commission warned the public that sweepstakes casinos aren’t licensed in the state and that it can’t help players with disputes. One tracker reports that a number of sweepstakes casinos restricted Wyoming after the warning.

The draft bill would make running an online casino or sweepstakes game “professional gambling” under W.S. 6-7-102, a felony with up to three years in prison and a $3,000 fine. It would also cover anyone who knowingly provides payment, hosting or advertising services. Its proposed effective date is July 1, 2027. Read the draft.

Nothing changes for players until a bill passes. ClubWPT Gold and Stake.us accept Wyoming per their own terms today, and we’ll update this page if either leaves.

Can I Play PokerStars, WSOP or GGPoker in Wyoming?

No. PokerStars, WSOP Online and BetMGM Poker only run in states that license online poker, and Wyoming isn’t one of them. GGPoker doesn’t accept US players at all.

Wyoming legalized online sports betting in 2021, but online casino games and poker weren’t part of it. A 2025 bill to allow online casino gaming died in committee.

If you travel, you can play on licensed sites while you’re physically inside a state that has them. Nevada is the closest, with WSOP Online. See our Nevada poker guide.

Live Poker in Wyoming

Live casino poker in Wyoming is limited to the tribal casinos on the Wind River Reservation.

  • Wind River Hotel and Casino in Riverton
  • Shoshone Rose Casino in Lander
  • 789 Casino near Riverton

We couldn’t confirm which of these spread poker tables right now, so call ahead before you make the drive. Each casino sets its own minimum age.

Will Wyoming Legalize Online Poker?

Not soon. The direction in Cheyenne has flipped from legalizing online gaming to prohibiting it. HB 162, the 2025 online casino bill, died in committee and wasn’t revived in 2026.

The bill most likely to move in 2027 is the sweepstakes ban, not a licensing plan for online poker.

We check this page every month and we’ll update it the day that changes.
