Board Definition – Learn What Is A Board In Poker

In community card poker variations like Texas Hold’em or PLO, the board refers to the shared cards that all players can use and combine to make their strongest combination according to the poker hand rankings. All cards dealt on the board are placed face-up and can be used by all of the players.

For example, board cards are the cards revealed on the flop, turn, and the river. The board can be a dry board or a wet board, depending on the cards. These cards are the opposite of hole cards, which are private to every player.
