In poker, the term edge is used to describe a perceived advantage a player has over their opponents.
Unlike many other poker stats, edge isn’t a precise number that can be calculated. It is a combination of factors that result in certain players having better-winning chances.
As an extreme example, a player who’s been grinding live tournaments for 10 years will almost certainly have an edge over the field consisting mostly of people who only started playing a couple of months ago.
There are many different ways to find an edge in poker, but as stakes rise and the skill gap narrows, edges tend to shrink.
