Grinder Definition – Learn What Is a Grinder in Poker

A poker grinder is a player who spends a lot of time playing the game with the primary goal of making a profit.

Although some grinders can be very good players, many of them rely on sheer volume and a small edge to make a decent profit.

For example, a $1/$2 online grinder could be making just 1BB/100, but they’ve become very skilled at multitabling 8-9 tables, and they put in eight hours every day to make a solid profit.

Of course, many grinders develop their skill over time, increasing their win rates, but the term itself relates more to someone’s dedication to playing poker than their skill level.
