That no-purchase-necessary setup is how these sites argue they fall under sweepstakes law rather than gambling law. That’s exactly the model the 2025 Arkansas bill tried to outlaw, which is why it’s worth watching the next session.

What Changed for Online Poker in Arkansas
The big moment was in 2025. Since then, things have been quiet.
- September 2026. A check of state records found no Attorney General or Racing Commission action against any online sweepstakes site, and no bills prefiled for 2027. Source, Lines.com, September 30, 2026
- April 2026. The fiscal session opened on April 8 with no gaming bill filed.
- April 2025. HB 1861, the Interactive Gaming Act, was withdrawn on April 7 and sent to interim study. It would have let Arkansas’s casinos run online casino games and made unlicensed two-currency gaming a felony. Its Senate twin, SB 524, was pulled on March 20. Source, Covers, March 20, 2025
Arkansas’s general gambling law, Ark. Code 5-66-113, was written long before online poker. It doesn’t mention online poker or sweepstakes, and we couldn’t find an Arkansas court or regulator ruling on two-currency sites.
Can I Play PokerStars, WSOP or GGPoker in Arkansas?
No. PokerStars, WSOP Online and BetMGM Poker only run in states that license online poker, and Arkansas isn’t one of them. GGPoker doesn’t accept US players at all.

Live Poker in Arkansas
Live poker is legal at Arkansas’s licensed casinos, which the Racing Commission oversees. The room to know is Saracen Casino Resort in Pine Bluff.

Will Arkansas Legalize Online Poker?
It’s possible, but not this year. The 2025 bill showed some lawmakers want online casino games run by the state’s own casinos, paired with a sweepstakes ban.
That bill was sent to interim study rather than killed outright. The next regular session starts in January 2027, and that’s where a new version would show up.
If it comes back in the same form, it could license online casino games and push sweepstakes rooms out at the same time. We’ll update this page the day a bill is filed.
