No-Limit Definition – Learn What Is a No Limit in Poker

A no-limit poker game is a game where there are absolutely no limits or restrictions when it comes to betting.

For example, in a No Limit Texas Hold’em game, a player is free to bet anywhere from just one big blind to their entire stack whenever it is their turn to act.

This is different from pot limit, where the maximum bet size is determined by the size of the pot, or fixed limit, where a size of every bet is fixed at a certain amount.

The only limit that exists in no-limit games is the number of chips you have in front of you. If you have $500 in your stack, that’s the maximum you’re allowed to bet. You can’t reach into your pocket to add more money midway through the hand.
