Tilt in poker is an emotional state in which a player is not capable of making rational decisions and starts to deviate from what they know is the right strategy because they let their feelings take over.
For example, after losing a few all-ins in an unlucky fashion, a player can start playing way too many hands trying to double up, wanting to recoup their losses as quickly as possible. Or, they could become way too tight or straddling every hand.
Regardless of the underlying reason, tilting at a poker table is never good. While almost no players are immune to this feeling, it is important to recognize when the tilt starts to set in and take a break or stop the session entirely. You can even consider doing something else to rest or playing a fun game like bomb pots to relax and take your mind off losing.
It is much better to walk away and come back with a cool head than to keep playing when you know your decisions are guided by emotions rather than logic.
