Cardplayer Lifestyle to host Mixed Game Festival VII in Las Vegas

In less than two weeks, Cardplayer Lifestyle and founder Robbie Strazynski will return to Resorts World in Las Vegas to host Mixed Game Festival VII. While PokerCoaching.com blog readers will be familiar with past Mixed Game Festivals, those planning to attend the seventh installment can look forward to additional offerings along with the usual $4/$8 and $8/$16 cash games.

From February 25th through the 29th, Mixed Game Festival VII attendees can enjoy a pizza party, poker lessons, tournaments, and much more! For additional info on the upcoming event, be sure to continue reading below.

Mixed Game Festival VII Kickoff: Pizza for all!

Much like past Mixed Game Festivals, Mixed Game Festival VII will kick off the festival on Sunday, February 25th with a pizza party starting at noon in the Resorts World poker room. Regardless of where you side on the “pineapple on pizza debate”, while you enjoy a slice you can also take part in some Mixed Games when they begin at 12:30 PM.

For those of you unfamiliar with games outside of no-limit Texas hold’em, the $4/$8 limit games at Mixed Game Festival VII offer a great opportunity to learn the games from Razz and Stud players alike. Whenever I have the opportunity to promote the Mixed Game Festival, I make sure to note that despite the fact I had never truly played Mixed Games, my first time attending I won $200!

With a welcoming environment including willing teachers and pepperoni pizza, Mixed Game Festival VII offers a great opportunity for new Mixed Game players to learn and have fun!

Test Your Poker Trivia Knowledge

Away from the felt, having in-depth poker knowledge isn’t usually much help, but on Tuesday, February 27th at 11:30 AM, Mixed Game Festival VII attendees can use their poker acumen to win a wide array of prizes in a poker trivia competition. Whether you need some more RunGoodGear or want to win a copy of Jonathan Little’s latest book, the trivia competition taking place at Mixed Game Festival VII allows players to compete for more than just money.

Tip: if one of the trivia questions is “Who won the 2018 World Series of Poker Media Freeroll tournament?”, it was yours truly!

Women’s Wednesday brought to you by LIPS

Partnering with the Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS) as well as Poker Hall of Famer Linda Johnson and Women in Poker Hall of Famer Jan Fisher, Mixed Game Festival VII will feature a special Women’s Wednesday event. Geared towards spreading Mixed Games amongst women and new players, on Wednesday, February 28th at 10 AM, Johnson and Fisher will lead a free class that will teach attendees how to play both Razz and Omaha 8. Following the lesson, players will have the chance to practice for microstakes, and can even take their lessons to the $4/$8 tables if they feel up for it.

For curious players looking to branch out and learn Mixed Games, Women’s Wednesday will be a day worth circling on your calendar.

Omaha 8/Stud 8 and H.E.R.O.S. Poker Tournaments

Cash games will consistently be running throughout the entirety of Mixed Game Festival VII, but attendees will also have the chance to enter one or both of the tournaments set to take place.

On Monday, February 26th starting at noon, a $300 buy-in Omaha 8/Stud 8 tournament will take place and allow Mixed Game masters to show off their tournament prowess.

Later in the week, the stakes will get even higher as the $300 H.E.R.O.S. tournament will not only offer a lucrative top prize, but a chance to win a prize package courtesy of PokerStars. Included in the prize package is not only entry to a $550 non-no-limit hold’em event on the North American Poker Tour but coverage of airfare and a four-night stay at the eventual host property as well. Rarely do satellite tournaments offer so much value to players, making Mixed Game Festival VII a can’t-miss event for poker players in Las Vegas later this month.
