Snap Call Definition – Learn What Is a Snap Call in Poker

A snap call in poker is a call made without any thinking and within a few seconds after the opponent makes the bet.

In a conversation, you’ll often hear this term used when players talk about bluff catching. They could say something like, the river bricked, and when Jim moved all in, I snapped called because I knew he missed his flush draw.

A snap call is a bit of a power move, showing that you know exactly where you are in a hand. Although it can earn you some respect, there are no additional chips awarded for the speed of the call, so taking a few extra seconds to make a final decision in a big pot is usually the best course of action.
